November 7-9th, 2025: This weekend I got the opportunity to go to the Western Society of Naturalists 2025 meeting in San Diego with my Coastal and Marine Resource Management class. Our class attended this conference to present our class data from the coastal opinion polling we had conducted throughout this fall semester. I was a lead author and presenter of our poster during poster session 2. Seeing my name on the program and the poster was really incredible, and getting to present my and the class's hard work at this conference was special and gratifying. This was my first academic conference, and it could not have gone better. It was very cool getting to network with other students and professionals in the field as well, particularly in the field of northern tidewater goby (Eucyclogobius newberryi) research. I wish to attend this conference again when I am a graduate student, so that I can present more research and network more with colleagues.
